My main responsibilities were to:
Design, execute, manage, and finalize a patent pending product on budget,
Drafted 5+ successfully funded proposals for NRC, NSERC, IRAP and OCE,
Manage and execute various R&D projects: Development of Recycled Fiber Core Panels,
Scale-up Manufacturing Noise Barrier Panels,
Embedded Security-Smart Door Components,
Primary contact, follow up and manage projects, with different OEM and after-market customers; MANAC, WABCO, ITD, ALPCO and etc.,
Perform finite element analysis on products to check, validate, and modify the products,
Work with third party design companies (metal and special tool design shops) to develop machines needed for factory floor and any newly developed products,
Build, test, and trouble shoot product prototypes and finished laminates,
Create product specification sheets by performing several mechanical and environmental tests.
Majority of the products need to meet specific criteria and have to be tested using the following
ASTM standard tests: tension, three-point bend, drop-weight impact, t-peel, climbing drum, water absorption, fire retardancy, salt and fog spray,
Supervise and assign tasks to technicians and workers,
Purchase or design lab equipment for mechanical and materials testing and contribute to related negotiations,
Diagnose and solve production problems; investigate reasons leading to failed materials and determine standard operating procedures to prevent future failure,
Find and classify standards, requirements, technical documents and manuals,
Visiting supplier and customer sites to get familiar with their needs and improve collaborations,
Work with management and quality team by coordinating and participating in the development of new products, the improvement of current product designs, and maintaining engineering files and documentation,
Retrofit old Instron uniaxial tension machine (saving USD100k+),
Present company's project and products for customers and at different fairs.
